CONGRATULATIONS, YOU MADE IT TO THE YEAR 2025

Beloved: praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who, in His great mercy and love, has given us the privilege to be a part of this new year, year 2025.

Without doubt, there were some who, like us, desired to be a part of the year but who are no more. And that is not to say that we who are now alive are better than them. If they lived their lives for God before they died, then, they did not lose by dying; instead, they gained – they gained an eternity with God.

Is there now any advantage to being alive? Yes, there is much advantage to being alive. And it is that we can live to do more good works for God than those who are already dead. Remember that Jesus says, “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” (John 14:12NIV) Why can anyone who believes in Jesus look forward to doing even greater works than He did? It is because He is no longer physically present here on earth.

If Jesus had remained physically present here on earth ever since He was born, then, no one would have been able to surpass His good and great works. But because He is no longer physically present here on earth, those who believe in Him and who enjoy long life can surpass His good works.

But will those of us who believe in Jesus Christ actually surpass His good works? Well, first, it depends on how long we live. Second, it depends on how seriously we take what He has told us.

So, the fact that God blesses us with long life does not mean that we will use our time to do the works of Jesus, not to even talk of surpassing them. If our hearts are not serious about doing the works He did and which He wants us also to do, the gift of long life given to us by God may just be a waste.

Now this year 2025 is another gift to us from God to live longer here on earth than some others and perhaps than Jesus Christ Himself. And whether this gift will be a waste or not all depends on the commitment of our hearts to the Lord. My prayer is that it will not be a waste in my case and also in your case, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

I welcome you with delight into 2025 once again and pray that all will go well with you, spirit, soul and body. Amen.

DON’T BE INTIMIDATED

THEY WON'T REST—UNTIL YOUR MATTER IS SETTLED

“Naomi replied, "Stay here, my daughter, until you know how it turns out. The man won't rest unless he settles this matter today."” (Ruth 3:18GW) My heart always swells with joy when I remember that we serve a God who truly cares about us...

AN EXAMPLE OF A TRUE BELIEVER

As you journey through life, I want you to make up your mind to be an example of a true believer to all the people in your world. That is one of the things Paul says to Timothy in his first letter to him. His words are: “Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” (1Tim 4:12NIV) Can you see that?...

AVOID EVERY ALTERNATIVE TO GOD'S WILL

Be careful of those who are in the habit of counselling you against the word of God. Yes, be very careful of those who are continually offering you alternatives to the will of God, and stay as far as you can away from them, regardless of who they are. That is because such people don’t have your well-being in mind – it is your destruction they are after...

LEARNING TO PRAY FOR PROTECTION

...“Watch and pray, so that you will not fall into temptation.” See, if we don’t pray along this line, satan will rubbish us...

TAKE YOUR LEADERS SERIOUSLY

I want to admonish you to take the leaders God has appointed for you in His church very seriously. And that is because they are gifts given by God to you for your growth and edification in all good and righteous things. (Cf. Eph 4:11-13) Yes, I know that salvation is a very personal thing. But we were not saved by God to live isolated or self-governed lives; we were saved to be a part of His great family.

GOD OUR COMPETENCE

I am certain that our Heavenly Father is able to make you excel in all your endeavors, if you will rely on Him for competence, efficiency and effectiveness in all that you do. See, as children of God, it does not befit us at all to have a reputation for being lazy, slothful, feeble, weak, dull, lethargic, ineffective, inefficient and incompetent in our world...

DON'T BE A PART OF THE PROBLEM

...For years we have cried, longed and prayed for help in this nation. We want to be free from the hands of those who are oppressing us. We want to be rescued from the hands of those who are cheating us, corrupting us and injuring us. Unfortunately, right now, we are very far from anything called freedom. And do you know why? It is because most of us are a part of the problem we want to solve...

THE TERROR OF GOD FOR YOUR PROTECTION

...But there was a time in the world in which the rich, the powerful and the strong just took for themselves whatever they wanted. There was nobody to query or stop them. Now it was as such times that Jacob lived. Yet God protected him and his household. And we also, who are now living in the twenty-first century, can expect Him to do the same for us – we can expect Him to cause His terror to fall on the wicked around us, so that they will not attack or hurt us...

GOD HAS PLANS FOR YOU

...But while they were in Babylon, thinking all was over, God sent His word to them again. This time around, however, He began to speak to them about His original plans for them. It was never and it is still never God's will for His people to suffer. Usually, it is ...

COME AS A LITTLE CHILD

...Now why did the Lord refer to these disciples as ‘little children’? It was because they came to Him as little children. They came to Him as people who did not know anything. And remember that He once said to His listeners, “Unless you become like little children, you cannot be a part of the kingdom of heaven.” (Cf. Matthew 18:2-4; Mark 10:15)...

HEART WORSHIP

...The problem, however, is that much of our singing and dancing and shaking of bodies is usually of the flesh. Many times we sing without considering the meanings of the songs we are singing or their consistency with the word of God. And that shows that, for the most part, we sing from the head and not from the heart. Also...

SELF EXAMINATION

I want you to ask yourself, “Am I growing in the things of God at all, or have I been stagnant?” This self-examination is important for each of us, if we are going to fully develop into all that God wants us to be.

GOD'S CURE FOR IGNORANCE AND IMPATIENCE

...the only way not to miss it at all is to learn to take advantage of God’s cure for our ignorance and impatience. What then is God’s cure for ignorance and impatience of every sort?..

HOW PERSUADED ARE YOU?

For us, the word of God must go beyond what we merely hear; it must also involve making a commitment to practice it. We must do what the word says. But why is this commitment lacking in many people? It is lacking because, for the most part, they have not been fully persuaded that the word of God ought to be taking seriously...
